Fluval Bio-Stratum is a specialist substrate made by fluval to promote outstanding plant growth and health. Bio-Stratum consists of a mineral dense powder format granules which supplies balanced amounts of required compounds for excellent plant growth, much like the normal stratum. These porous granules promote extensive bacterial colonization and act as additional biological filtration providing improved water quality.

Many tropical aquarium plants prefer a neutral to slightly acid pH as do many of our beloved tropical fish species. The Stratum range maintains this pH target keeping living conditions stable and optimal. Additionally, to this it softens water naturally which reduces carbonate hardness promoting better Co2 levels which plants use as a main building block for their structure.

Bio-Stratum differs due to its bacterial infusion. Containing dormant beneficial nitrifying bacteria that, once contacting water are activated and will break down waste and kickstart the nitrogen cycle.
